Best of LiveWorkBalance - November 2007
Wow, I must say it’s hard to believe its been two months and fifty posts already, in some ways it still seems so new. This month brought a few new things to the blog, in a new posting schedule, the addition of the occasional image, and a template shift, but it’s been great so far, and I look forward to keeping it up.
Now, just in case you may have missed some highlights from the month, here are a few of the most popular posts from the past thirty days!
Finding Time - Wake Up! the Series
Check out parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
I won’t post an excerpt from this series, but these articles covered my four week experiment to become an early riser. It’s been a great way to find an extra hour or so a day.
What to do when you can’t change the situation
The answer then lies in changing the internal environment. Sure, we might not be able to control the external force, but we can control our reaction and attitude towards it.
Life outside of work, the key to balance?
If your sole focus in life is your work, and work is tough, then you’re putting all of your energy into something that gives nothing positive back. Basically, you’re working hard to feel bad.
BlackBerries and balance - a match made in Heaven or Hell?
. . . that reminds me of a motivational phrase I’ve seen; “Those who think they can and those who think they can’t are both right.” Basically, whether the BlackBerry is the chain the binds you or the key that frees you is largely up to you.
. . . the key to success is to do what works, correct? So that would mean in working at attaining a good work-life balance, we should also do what works. But this leads to two more questions, the first being “What is a good work-life balance?” . . .
So if you haven’t yet seen some of these, feel free to take a quick look and comment if you’d like. Thanks again for reading, and I look forward to keeping this up!
Cheers,
Adam
